FIVE LIKES:
~ Routine (he likes having an established pattern of mealtimes and bedtime so that he knows what's expected, even though he doesn't always abide by the routine set for him)
~ Occulmency (Though he finds it challenging, it appeals to his nature so he practices it anyway.)
~ Veritaserum (He's very opposed to it when it's used on him, but he thinks it's very useful on others, and out of all the potions, that one seems to be the one he's drawn to the most.)
~ Butterbeer (He's very fond of butterbeer. He prefers it to pumpkin juice.)
~ History (though most students find it dreadfully boring, Scorpius is great with memorization, so remembering dates and names isn't nearly as challenging as it would be for most. He enjoys learning about the wizards of the past, especially when it involves foiled rebellions- he is very fascinated by finding out what they wanted to accomplish, what they planned and attempted, and why it failed.)
FIVE DISLIKES:
~ Public Speaking (He's great at it- he's charming, he's articulate, he makes and impression. But he's far more comfortable speaking in a hushed tone, or letting others do the talking in most situations. Still, he's not afraid to do it, so when he must, he takes the stage with confidence)
~ Any students that correct or surpass him in front of his father/any students that do well in potions in general/any students his father takes particular interest in (Scorpius is naturally jealous of anyone his father pays attention to. While he might not always admit it, he's prone to being quite harsh to them whether they deserve it or not.)
~ Almost all of his teachers
~ Crowds/Strangers (he's in his element with small groups and familiar people)
~ Herbology (Scorpius wants no part in anything related to plants. He got through the years of studying it without failing, but there was no way he was ever going to use anything he learned - well, that's what he'd say if you asked him at least-)
PERSONALITY: In a few words, Scorpius is confident, introverted, passionate, vengeful, secretive, and jealous. His confidence is easily the first thing one sees, because he carries himself in such a way that it's nearly impossible to deny. A lot of that stems from the pride his family maintains in themselves as pure blooded wizards. Another reason for it is that Scorpius strives to live up to his father and grandfather, especially since his father is the potion master. Scorpius learned very quickly that being secretive and sneaky came with the territory since he couldn't escape his father as most students did. Having his father around was also motivation to excel in his studies. Scorpius seemed to resent most of his teachers from the beginning, but he maintained high marks anyway. He was also never cited for disrespectful behavior or pranks (though he'd been behind plenty of them throughout the years he spent at Hogwarts). He was the silent mastermind, orchestrating his revenge by manipulating his fellow students via a combination of verbal persuasion, potions, and spells. All was done with a sometimes harsh, sometimes downright cold attitude, as though he were completely emotionless. Scorpius always felt the cold facade showed strength. Only after he pulled it off did he allow his emotions to return- usually in the form of a characteristic smirk that said 'I know something you don't'.
Despite this, Scorpius proves he has a mind of his own. He will obey his father out of respect, but that doesn't mean he isn't silently questioning him every step of the way. Scorpius has his own moral compass that dictates his emotions and actions constantly. It has nothing to do with other people's emotions, opinions, or their rules. That was the biggest issue he had with the professors- they tried to control him, without providing logical reasons for what they expected him to do. He did believe that respecting the professors his father approved of was necessary, so he was particularly kind to them.
FAMILY: Scorpius was born to the Malfoy family. He is grandson to Lucius and Narcissa, who he has a very unshakable respect for. In fact, he thinks the world of his grandfather, and the stories he's heard of him. While he certainly doesn't dislike his grandmother by any stretch, he is nearly inseparable from his grandfather (at least until his grandfather would tell him to go somewhere else, be it to have an important 'adult' conversation, or for any other reason).
His parents are Draco and Astoria. He respects them just as much as his grandparents, but he spends more time with his mother than he would with his grandmother. Even so, when he was younger he followed his father around, stating that he wanted to be just like him. He was always more likely to be alone or with his father or grandfather than with kids his own age. Even so, he did associate with one person of his age range- his sister. He adored her, and as a child he liked the idea of protecting her. To her, he felt compelled to be genuine, to let her into his world as it were. For the most part, his other relatives were far less significant to him though he has his fair share of memories about all of them.
HISTORY: Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy was born one day after Halloween, on a day more commonly known as All Saint's Day. It put him under the sign his name suggests- the Scorpion. And, if nothing else, saying he was a Scorpion could certainly give you an idea for what to expect of him. He was the kid who could make a person uneasy with a mere look (he was infamous for his habit of glaring) and he was known as the kid that would get his way if you didn't stand up to him. As such, he had a few favorite people (the members of his immediate family and his grandparents, namely) but he didn't seem compelled to like anyone beyond that little circle. He'd respect people they respected, at least, so he didn't make a lot of enemies. This lack of enemies (at least before he went to Hogwarts) provided him with a fairly happy childhood, at least in his own mind. Of course, it wasn't always perfect, but he always felt it worked out in the end. Just as coming to Hogwarts worked out. If it weren't for the fact that he was a Malfoy and that he was just as sinister as he was intelligent, he probably would have been placed in Ravenclaw with how much effort he put into his studies. But, true to Malfoy tradition, Scorpius got into Slytherin, and he fit right in (which may or may not have been due to his father being a professor)
ANYTHING ELSE?: Not that I can think of, no.
//TIME TO SHOW OFF//
SAMPLE POST: (This is not of the character the app is for but I rather like it anyway. I wrote it a few days ago. I play both characters, Ruairi and Cymir, on that particular site.)
Ruairi yawned as he leaned against the railing, his eyes lazily darting from one fish to another as they swam about the large aquarium in front of him. Nearby a hyper seven year old with a can of soda clutched in his hand was rattling off some story as he watched the fish. Ru offered the occasional 'uh-huh' of acknowledgment, which satisfied his social engagement to the little boy, but his mind was far away now. Since arriving in Bayville, things had moved so quickly. A day of unpacking with his mother, a day of exploring the town, and then meeting the lemon haired little boy, Cymir. Ru took to him immediately, which would explain why he invited the little boy to the aquarium in the first place. He would have preferred the museum, but apparently the museum was boring, said Cy. So Ru relented, and here he was.
"Ru?"Cy began suddenly voiced, his tone questioning as he reached up to tug at the hem of Ruairi's canvas jacket. Getting the older boy's attention wasn't hard, but Cy wanted to be sure all the same.
"Mhm?"Ru responded, turning his shoulders in Cy's direction so that he was almost facing the seven year old as he listened. He still stood above the boy, but he wasn't about to kneel down around all these people. Besides, his height hadn't noticeably fazed the little boy yet, so he wouldn't expect it to now.
"Why don't fish go backwards?"Cymir questioned curiously. Ru proved knowledgeable so far, there seemed no reason in Cy's mind that he couldn't answer that question. Besides. Cy would love to see a fish swim backwards, just once.
"Backwards?"Ru chimed, his expression one of surprise. The little boy smiled, apparently amused by his Irish accent (which apparently was more noticeable with that one word) "Well, 'suppose they don't for the same reason that you don't walk backwards. Even if you know how, you know you're not supposed to, that other people don't do it. No one's going to stop you, but do you think of it on your own?"
"No... Guess not."Cy agreed, casting his gaze down to his feet. Ru probably wouldn't like him if he kept asking silly questions, and that was the last thing Cy wanted to happen. So he would keep quiet now and just watch the fish.
Ru, on the other hand, wasn't going to let that happen. The little boy's discomfort stirred his sympathies so definitively that he knew he had to do something.
"Walking and swimming backwards would be really cool though. Really fun. In fact, just because you reminded me, I'm going to try it,"Ru announced, dropping his arms from the rail to his side before he began taking cautious steps backwards. He moved slow at first, keeping his eyes on Cy rather than those around him. He kept going backwards, getting more confident after a few steps. He grinned as Cy began to laugh. That was more like it.
"Ru!"Cy's voice suddenly warned, his eyes growing wide as he watched Ru collide with a stranger. They should have saw it coming, but it still seemed shocking to Cy.
Cy wasn't the only one that was alarmed. Ru jumped when he felt the contact of another, his attention going to Cymir as he voiced his name. When he realized Cy was just trying to warn him, he relaxed ever so slightly before turning to face the person he'd collided with, expecting anger or annoyance. He was the picture of calm, however, with his arms at his sides, his expression serene.
"I'm sorry."Ru stated automatically.

OOC;; I decided just to post this and omit the part I was uncertain about entirely, but if you'd like me to fix anything/change anything, I will <3 I assume, considering the character's name is Scorpius, that he'd boast the characteristics of a Scorpion personality so I based it on that, but if there is a particular trait or attitude that is more appropriate, I can edit my application to adhere to it.
