The feeling of his lungs burning was the best feeling in the world. The sun was already bright and hot on the lake. Cedric could feel the adrenaline flowing through his veins and smiled as he started slowing his pace after a long morning run. Jogging back to his start point, he picked up the shirt he left on the ground and wiped it across his forehead.
Catching his breath, Cedric stared out at the still water and let his mind wander. There were so many things he had on his mind. Being in his sixth year, he had to make sure to get everything done. There have been a couple of girls that have been on his mind too that he has wanted to talk to. The biggest thing that bothered him at the moment was the new law. He didn't know how to feel about it. One minute, it seems like a good idea. It will help get the wizarding population back up...But at the same time, the ministry should not be able to force people to marry someone they don't want to. Getting a little too worked up thinking, Cedric tried to get his mind to change topics. He knew if he thought about this any longer, he would just get a little angry and frustrated. Cedric turned away from the lake and began the walk back up to the castle to grab breakfast.

The sun had just risen and Roxanne sighed as she stepped out of the Greenhouse. There was a light cool breeze on the air. She looked up at the brightening sky for a moment. Behind her the Herbology professor was locking up. Roxanne had been coming down early to the Greenhouses to help out with the Devil's Snare Seedlings. It was for extra credit as well as the fact that she knew the Professor needed the extra help with these plants. The profesor spoke to Roxanne a few times before she heard the words. She turned slowly and nodded with a smile.
Turning towards the school, Roxanne started of for breakfast. She had not been able to sleep lately. She had been worried about her father. She didn't know how it was that her mother did not see what Rozanne saw. Even after sixteen years, her father still pined for his brother. Even still, Roxanne would catch her father looking at a picture of Fred. Watching the photographed Fred walk back and forth performing the same actions over and over again. Smileing sadly out at his twin. Roxanne felt for her father but knew she could never say anything about it. It seemed like her father hid his pain. Perhaps that was why he still felt it.
Roxanne shook her head slightly. she only wished that there was someone her father could speak too about it. Their family was out of the question except for maybe uncle Harry or Aunt Hermione.
Roxanne looked up to see another Gryffindor cutting across the grass towards the castle. She forced a smile. "Hey Cedric." She called out waveing slightly. She and Cedric had grown up together here at school. She walked towards him now happy for the interruption of her thoughts.[data]WORD COUNT 300

A smile came to Cedric's face when he heard his name called. Spinning towards the voice, Cedric slung his shirt over his bare shoulder and spotted a girl that he has known since his first at Hogwarts. They are in the same House and get along pretty well as far as Cedric could remember. "Roxie," Cedric said as he caught up to where she was. "How have you been?"He doesn't remember talking to her in a while, so he figured it was a good start to a conversation. It also seemed to him that she was as wrapped up in her thoughts as he was in his. Cedric opened his arms and began leaning in for a welcome hug. He was always affectionate when he ran into people. Especially gorgeous girls like Roxanne. Right as he was about to hug her, he remembered he just ran and was sweaty so he pulled back a bit giving her the option.

She smiled as he called her rosie. There were not too many people here or anywhere else for that mater that got away with calling her that. They were now walking together and Cedric asked "How have you been?" Roxanne grinned. "Meh," She said palyfully. "Life could always be better." The statement was true though she did have a good life. "How have you been?"
When he reached for her, Roxanne only paused for a moment. She saw him pull back skightly. He was sweaty, but then, she was only wearing a sweats and she had afteall grown up in a family of mainly smelly, sweaty, testorine filled males. She smiled and stepped into his now hesitant arms. Rozanne wrapped he arms arounsd his shoulders and turned her head towards his throat resting her cheek against his chest. She hugged him like this for a few moments and then stepped back with a smile. "I'm starveing." She told him as she turned and started up the hill to the castle.[data]WORD COUNT 183

Light laughter left his chest when she answered him. He definitely knew what she was saying when she said things could be better. Cedric was slightly surprised when Roxanne accepted the hug but embraced her back immediately. Cedric liked the feeling of her in his arms. She seemed to fit perfectly. Her head fit right below Cedric's chin. Roxanne's hair smelt really good, although he couldn't place the smell exactly.
After she pulled away and started walking towards the castle again Cedric was pulled out of his thoughts."It's the same for me too."He replied to her and threw his shirt back on before they reached the doors to go inside."I was actually going to get food myself. Wanna grab breakfast together?"
Cedric didn't know why but he really wanted her agree to them grabbing breakfast together. He doesn't really know much about her and would love time to get to know her better. Cedric gave her a shy smile and held the door open for Roxanne.

"I was actually going to get food myself. Wanna grab breakfast together?" Cedric said and Roxanne nodded. "Of course." she told him with a smile. She she nodded her head in thanks as he held the door for her. "Such a gentleman." She teased playfully. She smiled back at him as she stepped through the door. Roxanne led the way into the hall and looked around quickly. Everyone was busy eating.
Heading towards the Gryffindor tables, Roxanne smile, waved and greeted her extended family of cousin's and her brother. It was funny how all of the Weasley's had ended up in Gryffindor all through the generations. Roxanne moved along to they first few available spots and then sat down. The food was already on the table and Roxanne helped herself to bacon and a half of an omelet. She began to eat. They had class today, and for her, first class was potions. She loved potions.[data]WORD COUNT 158

Cedric laughed inwardly when she called him a gentleman. He didn't know if she was teasing or if he should take it as a compliment but he smiled anyways. Shutting the door behind them, Cedric followed Roxanne to the Great Hall, staying a couple steps behind her the whole way. He didn't really mind where they sat and she seemed to be taking the lead. When Roxanne chose a place to sit, Cedric sat down next to her and started putting together a plate. He grabbed a couple pieces of wheat toast with jam and a couple pieces of fruit. It wasn't much, but he wanted to stay healthy and these were the things that his mom bought for him when he was home. So he was kind of used to it. While eating his toast, Cedric looked around at the table he was sitting at. His mom always questioned him about how he got into Gryffindor when she was in Ravenclaw when she attended school. It looked hereditary the was the Weasly's were all in the same house. It didn't bother him much though, he loved the people he ended up with. He had the best friends ever in this house. "Today should be fun..." Cedric said sarcastically. He didn't really look forward to the long days of classes. They took a lot out of him. He hated sitting still and listening to the professors talk. "Know of anyway to spice up the day?" Cedric asked looking into Roxanne's eyes, half playing with the remark but being serious with it at the same time.

'Today should be fun..." Cedric said sarcastically. "Know of anyway to spice up the day?" Roxie grinned naughty. She could think of a number of ways to spice up the day. Only some of them were sexual. She ate a few bites of her food before responding. "I have a few things from my dads store." She told him. She did not think he thought of her really as a woman, so she pushed the naughty thoughts from her head. Her father had given her a home car package delivered by owls a few days ago.
Always the joker, the care package had been filled a quarter way with treats and the rest were pranks. "I have Canary Creams, Wild-Fire Whiz-Bangs, and Patented Daydream Charms. We could have fun with those." Time was running short and she did not want to be late for class so she hurried to finish her food. AS it was growing time to leave, Roxie just brushed her hand across Cedric's' fore arm. She just wanted to see what he felt like. It was strange but she did it anyway.

A sexy grin spread across Roxanne's lips when Cedric asked his question. He was hoping to get a reaction like that out of her. Cedric flirted a lot. He admitted that. Sometimes he took it too far but she seemed to enjoy it. Cedric smiled in success of being able to catch her with his remarks. "I have a few things from my dads store." Roxanne said totally deflating his high. The response he got from her after that grin of hers completely derailed Cedric. Its not like he expects Roxie to fall for his sly remarks, but that smile... Cedric put on a small smile as she started talking again. Roxanne seemed to be in a rush. Maybe it was for class, maybe she just wanted to get away from Cedric. He didn't know. Spinning the uneaten apple on his plate, Cedric nodded after she named off a list of her father's amazing prank stuff. He kind of retracted into his head after the slight rejection. Then, the touch of Roxie's hand against his arm made him jump. He wasn't expecting it. She was probably just reaching for something across the table, but the touch felt nice against his skin.[/color] "We should probably get going." Cedric said tossing the apple up into the air and catching it. "Roxie wouldn't want to be late to class now. Would she?" Cedric made sure he put a playful teasing tone to his voice. He stood up from the bench and stuffed the apple into his robes.

"We should probably get going." Cedric said tossing the apple up into the air and catching it. "Roxie wouldn't want to be late to class now. Would she?" He teased as he stood. Roxie frowned lightly as she stood as well. He had jumped when she touched him. She assumed it was because he had nto wanted her to touch him. She looked down and was silent for a few moments.
She had thought he liked her at least a little. They had been together for years in the same house. Roxie thought she could read him better then that. " I'm sorry I touched you." She mumbled. She started turn away. She wanted him to make some move to stop her. To prove her wrong but Roxie doubted if he would. Her face was bright red and felt the prickling of tears behind her eyes.[data]WORD COUNT 152

"I'm sorry I touched you." Cedric heard the words leave Roxie's mouth but it took him a few minutes to register them. Why would she apologize for something like that? He would give anything to feel her touch. Looking away while he had thought about this, Cedric looked back right as she took of with the saddest look on her face. He could have sworn he saw her start to tear up.
"Damn it!" Cedric said loudly causing the people around him to look at him weird. Getting completely pissed off at himself, Cedric pushed both hands through his hair. He was gonna lose it if he didn't calm down. He had to hurry too, because the longer he stood here, the further away Roxie got. Taking a few deep breaths, Cedric started sprinting towards her.
Once she was back within his range, Cedric called out to her "Roxie, wait! Please.." His voice left his mouth in a begging plea. Not knowing what he did to get her so upset, he hoped she would explain something to him. Cedric wasn't a sprinter and got tired very easily. He didn't know if she heard him, so he shouted her name one more time before he stopped running. Placing his hands on his thighs, he took long ragged breaths hoping Roxanne would turn around.

"Damn it!" Roxie heard him curse. She didn't stop to look at him. She was very close to crying now. She just felt so embarrassed. The hall had gone silent and Roxies knew that everyone was listening. She didn't even hear the staff talking. it was then that she could hear the hurried footsteps. "Roxie, wait! Please.." She heard Cedric call. His voice sounded out of breath.
She swiped angerly at her eyes. Roxie couldn't believe that she was crying. What was wrong with her? So he didn't like her. So what? what did it mater? She thought to herself. But then the tears began to fall harder. She growled and grounded her fists against her eyes wiping the tears away. "It mattered....it mattered because she liked him. And she felt as if she had been rejected.
Slowly she turned towards him. He was doubled over and breathing heavily. Roxie shook her head softly. "It's okay." She lied. "Don't worry about it. I get it, you don't like me." She forced a smile. She didn't want to stand here and talk about this. Roxie turned and left the hall. If he still wanted to talk it would be outside of the hall. She stooped outside of the doors and leaned against the wall. It was then that the tears began to fall.[data]WORD COUNT 231

"Don't worry about it. I get it, you don't like me." Cedric's jaw hit the floor. Did he hear her right? Roxie thought he didn't like her. Was she crazy? Because Cedric was crazy about this girl right now. They both must have been mixing signals. Cedric was getting so frustrated. He wanted Roxie to know that he liked her. What could he do to prove it though, he thought, getting even more upset with himself.
Roxie had walked out of the Great Hall while Cedric was stuck in his own thoughts. He needed to stop doing that. He couldn't let her go thinking that he didn't like her. She looked devastated. Thinking she might have gone to the common room, Cedric started walking quickly. However, once he was outside the hall, he was glanced around and saw her leaning against the wall crying. He did this to her. This needed to be fixed.
Walking straight up to Roxie, Cedric pulled her into a hug. "I'm sorry," he whispered in her ear, starting to tear up a bit himself. "But you are completely wrong about what you said in there. I do like you. You are amazing and beautiful and anyone would be crazy not to. Please don't cry..." Cedric held her tight and didn't ever want to let go.

Roxie wanted to go home. she was thinking about sending an owl to her dad t come and get her. She was so embarrassed. She had almost started crying in there. As she leaned against the wall crying, she looked at the ground trying to decide what the reason she gave her father would be. The door beside her opened and Roxie looked up to see Cedric set out. He looked around and then spotted her.Roxie looked down as he started towards her.
Before she knew what was happening, she was up against his chest with his arms around her. "I'm sorry," He whispered and Roxie turned her face towards him. She rested her head on his chest. She was still crying but her arms moved to in circle his waist. "But you are completely wrong about what you said in there. I do like you. You are amazing and beautiful and anyone would be crazy not to. Please don't cry..."
Roxie was silent. Slowly she looked up at him. "You jumped when I touched you." She told him. "You jumped up and suddenly wanted to go. If didn't seem like you wanted me." She didn't know what else to say. she felt like a fool saying that much.

Cedric couldn't help but laugh at the whole absurdity of the situation. She really thought that he didn't like her. "Just give me a minute to explain ok?" He said quietly as he rubbed her back. He felt horrible about making her cry and wanted to do anything to make her stop. Not giving her time to interrupt him, Cedric kept talking. "I didn't jump because you touched me, I just wasn't expecting it and it surprised me. I do like you. It kind of scared me how much I like you already." Cedric moved his hand across her cheek and made her look up at him. "Believe me?" Cedric didn't care that they were in front of half the school. There was no way he was letting her get away from her without understanding that he cared. Holding her face in his hand, Cedric leaned in a little. "I don't know how to prove it to you, but I do care. And I'm going to kiss you now." His lips rose a bit in a smile as his lips touched hers and he moved his hand to the small of her back.
