Rose sighed as she leant backward, very aware of the fact that lying across as stone floor reading on a perfectly good weathered weekend day was unusual. Though Rose weasley never claimed to be normal, right? So it didn't matter if people gave her weird looks, she was going to read her book in peace damn it!
Apparently her parents worried that she didn't have enough friends and that she never spoke of anyone outside of the family when she was home. That was because she just found most of her classmates boring and had decided after seven years that she was going to give up trying. Sure, some of the Ravenclaws and Slytherins weren't that bad but most Ravenclaws were focused on their studies and most Slytherins were evil. Not just a urban myth apparently. And the fact she was a Weasley didn't help the matter, despite the fact her hair was basically brunette.
Rose wished that people would grow up and get over their petty rivalries, she missed having James at Hogwarts. He seemed to have a good time a far lot more than most of the Hogwarts population. With all the crazy Ministry stuff going on at that moment.

Eric headed up the steps, through the double front doors and across the foyer and down the stone steps to the dudgeon. He was heading for the Slytherin common room. Eric was tired and slightly annoyed. It had been a long day and he had just mercifully left the flying class. Eric hated brooms and flying and anything associated with the two.
All he kept doing was falling anyways. He had spent more time in the hospital ward than any other student. He had almost even beaten Neville Longbottom's record from years back. He grumbled to himself as he stormed down the hallway. He almost tripped on the girl sitting in the hallway. Eric had just seen her at the lat second. "What are you doing here?" He asked he a little coldly. He had noticed her Cloak. Gryffindors should not be down here outside of classes.
He looked up and down the hallway. where was a prefect or a professor when you needed one? He thought to himself. "Don't you belong in the tower?" He asked her.

Rose rolled her eyes as an obvious Slytherin asked her what she was doing there. "Well I'm reading, can't you tell?" She asked sweetly, sarcasm seeping into her tone like honey. This was a natural reaction to any Slytherin, even though she had nothing personally against them. If they treated her badly, she threw it right back. She didn't take crap from no one. Especially not Slytherins.
Rose couldn't help but giggle and say the first thing that came to mind upon hearing the guy's next question. "I don't need a prince saving me, which is why I hang out in a dungeon." Rose said, her words motioning toward the belief that girls in muggle fairytales should wait in towers for their princes', which Rose found to be very unfeminist. She stopped her giggles and shrugged. "Well sure, one could say I do. Doesn't mean I want to be there though." She said flicked dirt out from under her manners in an uncaring manner. Although now she thought about it, she'd probably confused the boy with talk about princes' and towers. Most Slytherins didn't know about Muggle things.

"Well I'm reading, can't you tell?" Eric raised an eyebrow. "A little testy aren't you?" He asked. He was used to the house differences. "I don't need a prince saving me, which is why I hang out in a dungeon." Eric had to smile. He watched as she groomed herself. he brushed off his cloak. "I did picture you a being Cinderella or Belle." He told her with a grin.
He knew that she would think he was like all the other Slytherins. Pure Blood and ignorant to the world of muggles. Little did she knew that he grew up in the muggle world. Eric slipped off his bag and undid the front of his cloak before sliding to the ground beside her. "So what are you reading?" He asked. Eric was not in the mood to sit alone in the common room and it was obvious that this Gryffindor was not going anywhere soon.

Rose was definitely surprised when the boy shot back a response that meant he definitely knew about muggle fairytales. She flushed slightly as she glanced down at her book. How ironic when she was reading Beauty and the beast that moment. The full novel version of course. "Cindy let her family control her, but being Belle doesn't sound that bad I suppose." Rose said with a shrug as he sat down beside him. Maybe she had misjudged him.
"Ironically Beauty and the beast. It's probably my favorite fairytale." Rose said with a small smile. "I'm Rose by the way, Rose Weasley." She introduced.
